Frequently asked questions

We have a targeted selection of scenarios we can provide as references for specific industries. Each organization has its own unique challenges, processes, and procedures, so these are typically used as starting points. You can use our sophisticated and easy-to-use scenario design environment to tailor these to your needs. Contact us for details.

Yes, you can create your own scenarios using the Avalanche TTX scenario design environment. Avalanche TTX is designed to be user-friendly, helping you build and customize scenarios to fit your specific needs and objectives, without needing advanced technical skills.

Yes, Avalias can design scenarios for you. Our team of experts can work with you to understand your requirements and create tailored scenarios that address your organization's unique challenges and training goals. However, designing your own tabletop exercise scenarios is so easy in Avalanche TTX, you might be surprised how little help you need.

Yes. Avalanche TTX allows you to add debrief report templates in Microsoft Word format or create custom versions of the built-in reports. This flexibility enables you to customize the design and content of the reports to meet your specific needs.

Yes. Avalanche TTX lets you quickly import videos, images, audio, and other media with drag-and-drop simplicity. Once you've imported the content and created your new scenarios, these can be shared easily with others using Avalanche TTX Server, or they can be saved to a scenario archive file and imported to other instances of Avalanche TTX, for example on a portable kit for delivering exercises on-the-road.

This can range from a couple of hours to a few days, depending on the complexity of the scenario you are building. For a simple single-site scenario, if you know the main plot points of your story and the questions you want to ask, you can build the scenario in a few hours.

For more advanced multi-site exercises, this can take longer, as you need to consider the perspectives of different teams involved in the exercise, the questions being asked, and the incorporation of dynamic consequences and outcomes based on the teams' decisions and actions.

For smaller tabletop exercises, one person can host and deliver the exercise using Avalanche TTX without additional assistance. Avalanche TTX takes care of the exercise delivery, leaving the facilitator free to focus on team discussions.

For more elaborate exercises, it’s recommended that a second person be assigned to operate the facilitator controls, managing the scenario flow and acting as a scribe or note-taker.

For large-scale, multi-location exercises, a team of observers can also be involved, remotely evaluating team decisions and feeding information back to the exercise control team through Avalanche TTX. Their observations may be used by the exercise control team to affect scenario consequences, and are also available for post-exercise review, evaluation, and reporting.
